When Life (and Style) Needs a Pause
Share
Thirty days. No live sales. No Thursday chaos. Just me, my thoughts, and a very committed rotation of swoop tops and cardigans.
Here’s the thing: life—like style—needs pauses. The same way your favorite cardigan stretches with you instead of fighting back, a break lets you reset. To breathe. To remember why you started in the first place.
During my break, I visited all over Spain and Italy with a full itinerary—but what I enjoyed most was my unplanned trip to Palestine and reconnecting with family. I introduced my son to my childhood roots , aunts, uncles and the cousins I’d need multiple hands to count. Allowing him see a side of me only the past can recreate. We stayed up till dawn reminiscing with my cousins about how we used to get into trouble together, have dance parties at my grandparents’ house, or the days we picked olives to make oil. I visited my grandmother’s grave, my first visit there without her presence. And while it wasn’t a spa-type vacation with massages and cucumber water, it was a different kind of self-care—the kind that nourishes the soul.
But here’s the twist: when you step away from a small business for a month, you feel it everywhere. My little ecosystem did—my sewers, my cutters, my fabric guys and of course, you.
In those quiet weeks, I thought often about how special this community is. How supportive you all are. How a small idea blossomed into what REMA is now. My customers came up in every conversation where someone asked, “How’s business going?” And then there were the little things: the sweet DMs, the “we miss you” messages, everything that reminded me why I keep creating. You reminded me that REMA isn’t just clothes—it’s the connection stitched into every piece.
And now—it’s time to press play again. The pause is over, and I’m back with fresh energy, new colors, and a reminder that style should never feel forced. How some of the best things in life come unexpected.
The piece I’m most excited to bring back? Our favorite: Hip Hugger Dolman—now in brand-new colors you’ve been asking for. It’s the piece you slip on when you want effortless comfort without compromise. I can’t wait to release it this Thursday. And of course, I couldn’t come back empty-handed. We have a small gift with purchase this week—a tiny memento for the first 25 orders. A way to say, “I didn’t forget you this month.”
So here’s to pauses that reset us—and to the community that reminds me why I always press play again. Thank you for waiting, for checking in, and for being the kind of women who prove that style is about more than what we wear—it’s about how we show up.
